September 5, 2008 (Ottawa, ON): The Pearson Peacekeeping Centre (PPC) has secured funding from the Government of Canada’s Global Peace and Security Fund to develop and implement a training program to enhance the operational effectiveness of African police and military personnel selected for the United Nations/African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID), Sudan.

September 2, 2008 (Egypt): The Pearson Peacekeeping Centre (PPC) with funding from the German government is delivering a police training course hosted by the Cairo Regional Centre for Training on Conflict Resolution and Peacekeeping in Africa (CCCPA).

June 13, 2008 (Botswana) and June 20, 2008 (Ethiopia): The PPC, with funding from the German Federal Foreign Office, will seek to strengthen the capacity of police and gendarmerie senior decision-makers from 14 African countries involved in peace operations through the Senior Police Executive Seminar. This activity is part of the ongoing Pan African Police Capacity Building Program. This course takes place in both Gaborone, Botswana and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
