Design of UNPOL/CIVPOL Course
EMP in Mali
As part of the PPC’s Capacity development project, the PPC will be participating and mentoring the design of a Civilian Police course for KAIPTC, in partnership with ECOWAS. A concurrent iteration of this project will run at the same time at EMP Mali.

Design of Logistics Course

As part of the PPC’s Capacity development project, the PPC will be participating and mentoring the design of a peace operations logistics course for KAIPTC, in partnership with ECOWAS.

SML Course
ACSRS in Abuja, Nigeria
In February, the PPC will again offer its Senior Mission Leadership (SML) course at the African Centre for Strategic Resolution Studies (ACSRS). At the same time, through targeted interviews with various stakeholders, PPC staff will conduct structural visits to assess national capacity constraints and identify technical needs.

UN Mission Visits
Liberia and Democratic Republic of the Congo
Senior decision makers from the target police/gendarmerie organizations will have the opportunity to visit an existent UN Mission.  Participants will gain a deepened appreciation of the challenges and opportunities in POs in order to enhance their national engagement.

Two visits will be organized in February / March 2008.  DPKO has identified United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) and the United Nations Missions in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUC) as potential venues for the visit.
