In many parts of the world, political repression, ethnic violence, economic instability and civil war are a part of everyday life.
To best assist people who live in fragile environments, peace operations personnel (such as civilian humanitarian workers, military personnel and police) need training before they set out. The Pearson Peacekeeping Centre (PPC) endeavours to provide that training, compelling intermediaries to consider international rules of engagement, ethics, human rights, peace negotiation techniques and cultural sensitivity issues.
The magnitude of this work makes the PPC a really exciting place to be; it’s not just a job – it’s the chance to contribute to a more peaceful vision of the world through your work. Joining the PPC team involves an opportunity to work with international clients and promote Canadian values in peace operations all over the world.
The Centre is a non-partisan, not-for-profit Canadian-based institution, which has an internationally distinguished reputation. Our main offices are located in Cornwallis, Nova Scotia and Ottawa, Ontario and we have project offices in Montréal, Quebec and Halifax, Nova Scotia.
