Roundtable on the implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1820

The Pearson Peacekeeping Centre (PPC) and Peacebuild are organising a roundtable on the implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1820. The roundtable will be held at the International Development and Research Centre in Ottawa, Canada on September 2, 2009. The purpose of this event is to increase understanding of the policy and programming implications of Resolution 1820 in the Canadian and international context in order to ensure the most effective implementation of the Resolution and the achievement of the goals it sets out.

The roundtable will bring together international experts to discuss challenges and opportunities to the implementation of Resolution 1820 from a variety of perspectives.

The roundtable presents a unique opportunity for Canadian government and civil society actors engaged in research, programming and projects focused on conflict-affected communities to come together and participate in an informed dialogue regarding the policy and programming implications of this Resolution.
