Tetsuo Theodore (Ted) Itani
Ted is a veteran of 37 years of military service. His post-retirement assignments include the ICRC, IFRC and the Canadian Red Cross, with recent field experience in rapid response to complex emergencies and natural disasters, including long term recovery and rehabilitation.

 

Inspector Vic Josey
Vic Josey has 32 years of service as a regular member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in senior management, operations and administration roles. He is a veteran of 3 United Nations missions, and is currently lending his experience to the PPC on secondment from the RCMP. He has expertise in a variety of areas, including: police in missions – monitoring, HR investigations, and executive policing; civil – military cooperation; refugee camp security; negotiation/mediation; crisis management and police recruitment, training and development.

 

Col. Peter Kramers
After a distinguished military career, Col. Kramers retired from the Canadian Army in 1998. He subsequently served as the Senior Mission Planning Coordinator, Chemical Weapons with the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons in The Hague until April 2001, when he joined the UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations. For the PPC, Col. Kramers helps design and run major training exercises with partners such as NATO.

 

Dr. Ann Livingstone
A graduate of Anderson University, Indiana, Dr. Livingstone earned her Masters at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. She completed post-graduate studies at Oxford University (UK), was awarded her Ph.D. from University of Keele (UK), and is currently the PPC’s Vice President of Research and Education.

 

Dr. Sarah Meharg
Dr. Meharg is the PPC’s Senior Research Associate. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture (Guelph), a Master’s of War Studies (Royal Military College) and a PhD in Geography (Queens). She is an expert on the regions of Bosnia-Herzegovina and Afghanistan and the themes: post-conflict reconstruction, military geography, genocide studies and destruction of cultural property.

 

Peter Miller
Mr. Miller is the Director of Africa Programs for the PPC and joined the Pearson Peacekeeping Centre following his retirement as Assistant Deputy Commissioner with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.  He is a specialist in capacity building, policing and the management of domestic peace operations structures.  He has served in 3 United Nations missions including East Timor and Western Sahara where he served as the UN Police Commissioner.
