Research

To keep pace with the constantly evolving field of contemporary peace operations, the Pearson Peacekeeping Centre (PPC) works diligently to identify, analyze and incorporate emerging trends and best practices into our learning materials. We conduct applied research in the peace and security domain through seminars, field work, conferences and symposiums and by incorporating a diverse array of interdisciplinary perspectives including anthropology, cultural geography, ethics, history, conflict analysis and economics.

The PPC houses a dedicated team of generalist researchers with a wide breadth of experience, so that they can examine research materials with a multi-faceted lens. This allows the PPC to provide a neutral space for dialogue – a safe space, where difficult questions about peace and security can be posed and unpacked.

Our research team regularly collaborates with other academic institutions, policy-makers, international organizations and development groups to ensure that the PPC remains at the leading edge of new developments in the peace operations community.
